Eva Carroll

October 20, 1943 — December 19, 2010

Eva Larae Carroll, 67, a resident of rural Carlisle, died Sunday, December 19, 2010, at the PioneerCare Center in Fergus Falls. She was born October 20, 1943, in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, the daughter of Vernon and Bessie (Waldrop) Carlson.  She attended elementary school in Elizabeth, and then attended Fergus Falls High School. She married Lawrence Carroll in Fergus Falls, and they had four sons. They farmed in the Elizabeth area.  After they sold their cattle, she was employed over the years at the Elizabeth Liquor Store, Mexican Specialties, and Walmart.  Lawrence passed away on June 3, 2010. Eva was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.  She enjoyed gardening and watching and feeding the birds and wildlife.  Her greatest joys were her four boys, and her eyes always sparkled when she was with her grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Lawrence, and a brother, Vernon Carlson Jr. Survivors include her four sons:  Michael (Jan Dumas) Carroll of Elizabeth, MN, Terry Carroll of Lengby, MN, Robert Carroll of Rothsay, MN, and Thomas Carroll of Grand Forks, ND; four grandchildren:  Kellie, Andrea, Kaitlyn, and Jack; a sister, Arlene Kerns of Jet, OK; a brother-in-law, Eugene Carroll of Flasher, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation:  5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Brenny Hall in Elizabeth with a 6 p.m. prayer service, and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church. Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. Thursday, December 23, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Elizabeth Clergy:   Father Stan Wieser Interment will be in the spring at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Elizabeth Funeral Home: Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls
