Eunice Neuman

Eunice Vivian Neuman, 93, a lifelong resident of Fergus Falls, died Monday, October 1, 2007, at the Broen Memorial Home in Fergus Falls, where she had resided since September of 2004. She was born February 10, 1914, in Fergus Falls, the only child of Jesse and Mary (Marotteck) Olds. She attended Fergus Falls High School. On April 2, 1935, she and C. Russell Neuman were married in Topeka, Kansas. She remained at home, enjoying raising her family and taking care of the house. In 1967 she began working at the Fergus Falls State Hospital as a Psychiatric Tech, and retired in 1981 as an L.P.N. Her hobbies included playing cards, fishing, carpenter jobs, casino jaunts, reading, crossword puzzles, excursions with the "girls", decorating and home improvements, and especially spending time with her family. Preceding her in death were her husband, Russell on November 14, 1968; her parents, Jesse in 1969, and Mary in 1974; her step-father, Linus "Babe" Waldham in 1963; her father-in-law Chas. E. Neuman in 1969 and mother-in-law Ollie Neuman in 1982; and two brothers-in-law: George E. Neuman in 1998, and an infant named James. Survivors include her daughter, Constance Mary (Vernon) Vallevand of Fergus Falls; her son, James Russell (Mary) Neuman of Otter Tail Lake; grandchildren: Mark (Debbie) Vallevand of Lino Lakes, Michael Vallevand of Fergus Falls, Kirk (Brenda) Neuman of Faribault, Judd (fiancee` Lucinda Hanley) Neuman of Gypsum, CO, and Reid Neuman of Ottertail; two great grandchildren: Kimberly Vallevand and Dakota Neuman; and her best friend Rosie Haugen.
