Ethelyn M Duckwitz

Ethelyn Mavis Duckwitz, 91, died Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at PioneerCare, Fergus Falls.

Ethelyn was born on October 31, 1927, in Fergus Falls, MN, the daughter of George and Flora (Jacobson) Berger. She grew up in Fergus Falls and attended District 43 country school.

While she was working as a nurse in Grafton, ND, she met Albert Duckwitz and they married on April 30, 1950. Through the years, Ethelyn was a housewife and also helped Albert farm for many years.

Ethelyn was a member of Maine Presbyterian Church and served as a Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed crafts, baking, cooking, embroidery, babysitting and fishing.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Albert; son, Wayne; sister Clarice Picco; brother, Harley Berger and granddaughter, Candi Duckwitz.

Survivors include her children, Ernest (Lucy) Duckwitz of Amor, Bruce (Nellie) Duckwitz of Pelican Rapids, Diana Blumer of Richville, MN, Jeffory (Mona) Duckwitz of Altimont, IL; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sister, Gerri Elshaug of Fergus Falls; brother, Vernon (Shirley) Berger of Fergus Falls; sisters-in-law, Janice Berger of Fergus Falls, Gertrude Knopp of Hebron, ND, Carolyn (Larry) Marthaler of Dickinson, ND, Hedwig (Louis) Larouge of El Paso, TX and Ruth Sailer of Zap, ND as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the funeral home
Service: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 19, 2019, at Olson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls
Clergy: Chaplain David Strom
Interment: Silent Vale Cemetery, Maine, MN
