Estelle Dellaneva

Estelle Dellaneva, 73, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Sunday, May 4, 2008 at her home. Estelle was born on January 20, 1935 in Pelican Rapids, the daughter of Merle and Edna (Erlandson) Frazee. She attended school and graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1952. She went on to attend North Dakota Agricultural College, now known as NDSU and went on to St. Lukes School of Nursing, graduating in 1957. She worked as a nurse, caring for others until she met her future husband. She was united in marriage to Nicandro Dellaneva. They had seven children, of which two sets of twins were born and they made their home in New Jersey. While living out east, Estelle was very active in the community and headed up many worthwhile events. Her main focus was on keeping the youth in the area active in their community and to help one another. Her home was always open to friends and neighbors; she always had a pot of coffee brewing and homemade goodies of some kind to sample for those that stopped by and she had many people that stopped by to visit. Estelle genuinely cared about people and their well being, young and old, she made every holiday, event or milestone a special occasion that made you feel special and important. She had the gift that made people come to her if for no reason than to just listen. She gave of herself selflessly, be it food, monies or whatever was needed. In April of 1979, Estelle and her family moved back to Pelican Rapids. She worked at the Good Samaritan Center and shortly after starting got promoted to Charge Nurse. She worked there until her retirement. Estelle enjoyed many activities: rummage sales, driving around in the car, stopping for ice cream, playing cards, bingo, trips to the casino every now and then, shopping, baking, getting ready for the holidays - which was her favorite time of the year, and simply having her family around and visiting with them and their families. Preceding her in death were her parents, daughter, Pamela Dellaneva; sister, Barbara Erickson, brother, Clifford Frazee and a granddaughter and grandson. Survivors include her children, Craig (Mary Ann) Dellaneva of Henderson, NV, Carol (Brian) Nelson of Dent, Lorie Sherbrooke of Fargo, ND, Paul (Brenda) Dellaneva of Fargo, ND, Dawn Dellaneva of Fergus Falls, and Nicole (David) Weber of Fergus Falls; 18 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, one brother-in-law, nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
