Emma Bertha Bradow, 99, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Sunday, December 11, 2011 at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. She was born February 11, 1912, in Fergus Falls Township of Otter Tail County, Minnesota, the daughter of Albert and Augusta (Schulz) Schroeder. She was baptized March 17, 1912, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Friberg Township by Rev. Grabarkawitz, and confirmed May 5, 1925 at Immanuel Lutheran by Rev. Kanning. She graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1932. Emma was employed at several places in Fergus Falls prior to her marriage. She also did alterations part-time for Norbys and Fandels. On October 10, 1937, she was married to William H. Bradow at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Friberg Township by Rev. A. Cloeter. They lived in Orwell Township where they farmed and raised their family. Emma moved into Fergus Falls in 1985. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, participating in the LWML, the Orwell Homemakers, and served as a 4H Leader. Emma enjoyed gardening – flowers and vegetables, baking, needlework and sewing, and traveling. She was a loving wife and mother, and her grandchildren were the light of her life. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, William Bradow, on March 21, 1977; an infant son in 1955; a son, Gary Bradow in 1998; an infant grandson, Matt Bradow in 1979; one granddaughter, Jennifer Bradow in 1993; and her siblings, Herbert Schroeder in 1994, and Hilda Jacobs in 1988. Survivors include her children: Norman (Sidonna) Bradow of Fergus Falls, Don (Judy) Bradow of Fergus Falls, and Bill (Glen) Bradow of Princeton, MN; a daughter-in-law, Norma Bradow of Fergus Falls; ten grandchildren: Jo Lynn (Mike) Beyer of Fergus Falls, Tim (Renee) Bradow of Littleton, CO, Pam Bradow of Colorado Springs, CO, Tara (Steve) Thom of Fargo, ND, Debra (Curt) Danielson of Fergus Falls, Janelle (Dave) Thompson of Moorhead, Jacalyn (Steven) Ring of Duluth, Daniel (Jacki) Bradow of Fergus Falls, Daren Bradow of Big Lake, and Julie (Devon) Bradford of Monticello; 20 great-grandchildren: Drew & Devon Thompson, Elizabeth, Ashlyn & Matthew Ring, Annie & Alec Bradow, Matthew & Grant Bradow, Nichole & Jason Jorgenson, Brandon & Rachel Ouren, Alexandra, Elisabeth & Harrison Thom, Andrew & Sara Danielson, and Justin & Jenna Beyer; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials are preferred to PioneerCare, Lakeland Hospice, and Trinity Lutheran Church. Visitation: 4 - 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service with Chaplain Harry Olson officiating, and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church.
