Elsie Peterson

Elsie M. Peterson, 98, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Monday, August 22, 2011, at the Lakeland Hospice House in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. She was born June 1, 1913, on the Berg family farm near Underwood, Minnesota, the daughter of Ole and Caroline (Widness) Berg. She attended school in the area, and after graduation attended Wahpeton Tech School. In 1934 she married Harold A. Peterson. The couple moved to Modesto, California in 1948 where she worked in sales for the Ross/Atkins Department Store in McHenry Village in Modesto. In January of 2007 she moved to Fergus Falls to be closer to her family. Preceding her in death were her husband in 1991, and brothers and sisters. Survivors include her sister, Laura Spies of Fergus Falls, a sister-in-law, Iva Berg of Fergus Falls, and numerous nieces and nephews.
