Elnora Nelson, 85, a resident of Barnesville, and formerly of Fergus Falls, died Monday, April 27, 2009, at the Barnesville Good Samaritan Center in Barnesville. She was born December 21, 1923, in Fergus Falls, the daughter of A. Math and Emma (Iverson) Stigen. She grew up in Fergus Falls where she attended school. On March 12, 1944, she married Carlton “Todd” Nelson in Fergus Falls. Elnora was a hostess and waitress for many years at Stubs in Battle Lake. She and her husband ran various restaurants in the Fergus Falls area. She also worked in Elbow Lake at the ASCS office for several years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Barnesville. Preceding her in death were her husband, Todd; a son, Bill; her parents; and four brothers. Survivors include her children: Lee (Connie) Nelson of Breezy Point, MN, Cheryl (Ken) Klipfel of Fergus Falls, Charles Nelson, Carol (Curt) Schindler and Chris Nelson, all of Barnesville, and Curt Nelson of Erhard; one brother, Wally Stigen, of Wahpeton; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
