Elizabeth “Liz” A. Wiese, 88, of Elizabeth, MN, died September 21, 2024, at her residence.
Elizabeth Ann Ecker was born July 31, 1936 to Perry and Alice (Nelson) Ecker in Dane Prairie Township at her family farmhouse. She graduated from Fergus Falls Senior High School in 1954.
On November 23, 1954 Liz married Emery Wiese in North Country, Iowa.
She was a Medical Secretary and Administrative Assistant at Fergus Falls Medical Group, happily retiring after 30 years in May of 1997. She was an organist at Augustana Lutheran Church in Elizabeth and also a Sunday school teacher.
Liz was a member at Augustana Lutheran Church in Elizabeth and Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking for her family, sewing, knitting, crocheting, fishing, softball, crossword puzzles, cards, entertaining and playing with the kids, canning, playing the organ, piano and accordion, and watching T.V. She was an avid Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Emery Wiese; children, Roxanne, Allen, Gordon, Anthony, and Sheralyn; sisters, Marlene Gustafsson and Dorthy Landberg; brothers, Jim Ecker and Kenneth Ecker, and special friend, Duke Braaten.
Liz is survived by her son, Bradley (Janelle) Wiese; 12 beloved grandchildren; 18 darling great-grandchildren; brother, Phil Ecker, and sister, Ellen (Erwin) Johnson.
Even though Liz struggled with medical issues for the last years of her life, she carried herself with grace and had a positive attitude. Liz dedicated her time to take care of those she loved and those that knew her loved her. She will always be remembered as a lovely, kind, caring, and strong woman.
