Elinor "Ellie" A Fjestad

Elinor “Ellie” Ann Fjestad, 76, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Friday, September 22, 2017, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo.

Ellie was born on September 10, 1941, in Fergus Falls, the daughter of Ernest and Jeannette (Bestick) Cederberg. She attended grade school in Campbell and then when Ellie was in high school the family moved to California. She graduated from Ferndale Union High School in 1959.

On December 1, 1962, she married Gordon Fjestad at Hedemarken Lutheran Church in Carlisle, MN. Ellie was a homemaker and farm wife and through the years also worked as a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell, daycare provider, wedding cake decorator and most recently as cake decorator for Dairy Queen retiring in 2005.

She was a member of Hedemarken Lutheran Church, where she sang in the church choir. She was also a 4-H leader, and enjoyed baking, cross-stitching and scrapbooking.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a sister, Catherine (Arlin) Abell, a brother, Richard (Patricia) Cederberg, and a brother-in-law, Paul Fjestad.

Survivors include her husband, Gordon of Fergus Falls; children, Trisha (Harry) Urschel of Eden Prairie, Todd (Shawn) Fjestad of Greenville, SC, Joel (Melody) Fjestad of Elbow Lake; grandchildren, Evan, Darren, Sarah Urschel, Eric (Heidi) Urschel, Quentin Ripley, Crystal (Aaron) Kloos, Bridget (Gibb) Peppin, Zachary (Brina) Rustand; great-grandchildren, Morgun, Easton, Jackson Kloos, Julia, Natalie Urschel; sister, Carol (Jim) Guy of Eureka, CA; sister-in-law, Ardyce Fjestad of Fergus Falls; brother-in-law, Dennis (Deanna) Fjestad of Wolseley, Saskatchewan, Canada and her special French family, Pierrick, Marine, Mathilde LeRay.

Memorials are preferred to LB Hospice or Hedemarken Cemetery Fund.

Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, September 29, 2017 with public prayers at 6:30 p.m. at Olson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls, and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Hedemarken Lutheran Church, Carlisle, MN.
