Eleanor L. Christopherson, 94, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, September 29, 2011, at the Broen Memorial Home in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. Eleanor was born on August 24, 1917, in Erhard, Minnesota, the daughter of Oscar and Esther (Knobel) Fossen. She grew up near Erhard and graduated from Pelican Rapids High School. On June 1, 1941 she married Earl Christopherson in Erhard. The couple lived in Victorville, CA for three years while Earl was in the service. They moved to San Bernardino, CA where they lived for two years, before moving to Fergus Falls. They settled in Fergus Falls and raised their two children, Lee and JoAnn. After Earl retired in 1978, they divided their time between Mesa, Arizona and Fergus Falls. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and through the years was active in the circles and WELCA. She also enjoyed being associated with the Lake Region Hospital Auxiliary, Elks, golfing, bowling, and restoring antiques. She lived life with grace and smiles, putting family and friends first. In her later years she had amazing resilience and unending patience ...she lived a life worthwhile and with love. She will be forever missed and treasured by family and friends. Preceding her in death were her husband, Earl, who died April 11, 2005; her parents; sisters, Delpha Anderson, and Clara Thompson; and brother, Roy Fossen. Survivors include her son, Lee (Annie) Christopherson, daughter, JoAnn (Lloyd) Knight, sister-in-law, AnnaMae Fossen of Pelican Rapids, and brother-in-law, Carroll Anderson of Fergus Falls. Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the funeral home Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls Clergy: Reverend Kate Bruns Burial: Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, Fergus Falls Arrangements were provided by Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls.
