Eldora Lavella Pedersen

Eldora Lavella Pedersen, 82, a resident of Underwood, died Thursday, November 1, 2012, at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls.

She was born August 22, 1930, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the daughter of Henry and Margaret (Neubauer) Boese. She grew up in Orwell Township, attending school at Districts #197 and #29. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.

On May 4, 1957, she married James Pedersen at First Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. The couple made their home in Orwell Township. Eldora worked along with her husband and sons milking cows and farming. She retired from the dairy operation in 2009.

In August of 2011 she moved to Shady Oaks Elderly Care in Underwood where she has lived since. While there she made an instant friendship with Gladys Fick. They had many good laughs together. When the weather was nice they enjoyed sitting outside. Eldora appreciated the care she received from Colleen and the staff.

She was a member of the Orwell Sunshine Circle, First Lutheran Church, and the West Otter Tail Farm Bureau. She never traveled much, but when she got married she moved from one side of Orwell Township to the other.

Eldora enjoyed gardening, raising and selling eggs, and the gossip and visiting that came along with it.

Preceding her in death were her husband, James Pedersen, a son, Douglas Pedersen, a sister, Delores and her husband Winton Boll, a brother-in-law, Christ and his wife Frances Pedersen, a sister-in-law, Dorothy Hinrichs, a niece Linda Stellmaker, and a brother who died as an infant.

Survivors include her son, Dennis H. Pedersen of Fergus Falls; two brothers, Harold (Joyce) Boese and Herman Boese, both of Fergus Falls; a brother-in-law, Lowell Hinrichs of Elbow Lake; and nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and cousins.

Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and resumes one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Service: 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls

Interment: Western Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Fergus Falls
