Elaine Avis Johnson

Elaine Avis Johnson, 80, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Monday, March 7, 2016, at her home, under the loving care of her family, guided by Lakeland Hospice.
Elaine was born on June 30, 1935, to Alvin and Emma (Rovang) Larson in Dalton. She attended grade school in Dalton and graduated from Underwood High School in 1953.
On September 13, 1953, Elaine was married to Donald R. Johnson at Zion Church in Dalton. Over the years, she worked at Fir Avenue Grocery in Fergus Falls and then worked at Crown Hallmark for almost twenty years.
Elaine was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, the American Legion Post 30 Ladies Auxiliary, the Eagles Auxiliary, the Fergus Falls Senior Citizens and Ladies Aid groups. She enjoyed playing cards, baking cookies, camping, wintering in Texas, attending family sporting events and spending time with her friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alvin and Emma Larson; her husband, Donald in 2005; a son, Ricky in 1954; and two sisters, Marilyn Johnson and Marjorie Gaston.
Elaine is survived by two sons, Randy (Vonnie) Johnson of Fergus Falls and Dean (Della) Johnson of Las Vegas, NV; a daughter, Nancy (Dean) Baker of Fergus Falls; eight grandchildren, Larissa (Matt) Ness, Alonna (Ryan) Johnson, Matt (Kara) Johnson, Erica (Matt) Jennen, Tyler (Amber) Johnson, Trever (Jayna) Johnson, Andrea (Melissa) Johnson, and Alecia (Erik) LeRoy; her great-grandchildren, Carter, Micah, Kaia, Maliya, Ailie, Owen, Kade, Emme, Kannon, Grace, Maryn, Hayden, Jayden, Noah, Lydia, Ella, Davis and Camron; a sister, Lorraine Karch of Fergus Falls; and three brothers, Gene (Laureen) Larson of Fergus Falls, Wesley (Barbara) Larson, and Daryl (Jackie) Larson, both of AZ. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Visitation: 5:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, March 10, 2016, at the Olson Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 6:30 PM. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.
