Elaine Hotchkiss

Elaine Joann Hotchkiss, 67, formerly of Fergus Falls, died Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at the Eventide Care Center in Moorhead, Minnesota. She was born March 24, 1945, in Vining, Minnesota, the daughter of Roy J. and Emma C. (Ellingson) Erickson. She grew up and attended school in the area, graduating from Fergus Falls High School in 1963. In 1963 she and David Wahl were married at Zion Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. She worked over the years at Lake Region Hospital and the Pelican Valley Nursing Home. On July 29, 1995 she married Gayle S. Hotchkiss in Detroit Lakes. They made their home in Detroit Lakes. Gayle passed away in 2007. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Gayle, and her siblings Gary, Mary Jane, Doris, and Darwin. Survivors include her children: Julie (Scott) Langston of Foxhome, Roger (Adriana) Wahl of Romania, and Heidi (Brian) Job of Moorhead; stepchildren: Renee Evenson, Julie (Brian) Johnson, and Mike Hotchkiss, all of Detroit Lakes; three brothers: Roy (Marjorie) Erickson of Dallas, TX, James (Joie) Erickson of Hebron, ND, and Dale (Rhoda) Erickson of Monticello, MN; a sister, LaVay (Hubert) Wisness of Elk River, MN; two brothers-in-law: Herb Jacobson of California, and Van Hoff of Fergus Falls; a sister-in-law, Vicki Erickson of Texas; seven grandchildren: Amber, Michelle, Adam, Sammy, Nick, Arianna, and Emma; nine stepgrandchildren: Emily, David, Niki, Abbey, Sam, Sarah, Jessica, Hope, and Kristina; two great-grandchildren: Rylan and Hayden; ten step great-grandchildren: Damien, Andrew, Nathen, Aiden, Taylor, Elijah, Ethan, Grant, Madison, and a baby girl due in October. Visitation: 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with a 5:30 p.m. prayer service, and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial Service: 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2012, at Grace Lutheran Church in Erhard Clergy: Reverend Brad Soenksen Interment: Wadena City Cemetery, Wadena, Minnesota Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls is in charge of the arrangements.
