Eileen Marilyn Peasley, 82, a resident of Erhard, died peacefully on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at the Broen Home in Fergus Falls.
She was born April 11, 1930, in Great Bend, North Dakota, the daughter of Henry and Ada (Hoefs) Gast. She was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church in Tyler, North Dakota, and confirmed at the Lutheran church in Fairmont. She grew up in North Dakota, attending grade school in Fairmont, and later high school in Breckenridge.
The family moved to the Edwards/Erhard area of Minnesota. It was there she met her husband, Charles, and they were married on March 16, 1947. They lived in Rothsay and Maplewood before purchasing the farm in 1957 where they dairy farmed and raised their family.
She was a member of Tonseth Lutheran Church and it’s Ladies Aid, MN TOPS 400, and served as treasurer for School District 1486.
Eileen enjoyed playing cards, belonging to the area card club, and also snowmobiling and reading. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.
Preceding her in death were her grandson, Justin Peasley, brothers Ronnie Gast, Alvin “Sonny” Gast, and Freddie Gast, and sister-in-law Romaine Gast.
Survivors include her husband, Charles of Erhard; children: Charlene (Lyle) Peasley-Wilmes, Bruce (Carol) Bentley Peasley, Marilyn Peasley-Robinson, Craig (Mona) Peasley, and Curtis (Christy) Peasley; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Karen (Derald) Connell and Patsy (Lenny) Ferguson; two brothers, Gerry (Shirley) Gast and Ralph Gast; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Gast; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Visitation: 4:30 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Service: 2 p.m. Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Tonseth Lutheran Church, Erhard, MN
