Edward Carlton Jorgenson, 84, a resident of Rothsay, died Thursday, December 6, 2012, at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls, Minnesota.
He was born November 9, 1928, in rural Erhard, Minnesota, the son of Erick and Clara (Ouren) Jorgenson. He attended rural school.
On June 4, 1949, he married Doris Weik at Hamar Lutheran Church in Rothsay. Edward farmed for 21 years for the same farmer in rural Carlisle. He also worked many years for the Rothsay Farmers Oil Station.
He loved working in his garden, playing cards, music, and watching any type of sports.
Preceding him in death are his parents; two brothers, Harley Jorgenson and Gaylen Jorgenson, a sister, Sylvia Hanneman, and a daughter-in-law, Debbie (Maack) Jorgenson.
Survivors include his wife, Doris, of Rothsay; his children: Lee of Little Falls, MN, Steven (Debbie) of Rothsay, Sandra of Battle Lake, Roger of Rothsay, and Paul (Lori) of Rothsay; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings: Elroy (Dorothy) Jorgenson of Rothsay, Ruby Hanneman of Fergus Falls, and Gloria (Delain) Miller of rural Fergus Falls; and sisters-in-law: Gwen Jorgenson of Rothsay and Ethelyn Jorgenson of rural Fergus Falls.
Visitation: 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church
Service: 1 p.m. Monday, December 10, 2012, at New Life Lutheran Church, Rothsay MN
Clergy: Reverend Paul Huso
Interment: Hamar Cemetery, Rothsay MN
