Edna Lysne

Edna Ruth Geneva Lysne, 91, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Friday, November 6, 2009, at the Pioneer Retirement Community in Fergus Falls.  She was born July 24, 1918, in Ashby, Minnesota, the daughter of Andrew and Tilda (Wedin) Evavold. She attended school and graduated from eighth grade. On November 24, 1937, she married Raymond Lysne in Battle Lake, Minnesota. She was a homemaker and stay at home mother. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. She also attended Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, and was a long time member of the Salvation Army where she touched many lives with her smile and tenderness. Edna loved going to bible study at Park Gardens and playing Bingo with her good friend, Edna Dunham. She was a true Christian and spent a great share of her life reading bible verses. The most important part of her life was her visits from family and friends. Preceding her in death were her husband, Raymond Lysne; a son, Rodney Lysne; a grandson, Mickey Lysne; her parents, Andrew and Tilda Evavold; three sisters, Alice Lundberg, Nancy Boe, and Florence Mitchell; six brothers, Ralph, Roy, Lester, Leonard, Henry, and Clifford Evavold; and numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Survivors include her children: Rosalie Albertson of Fergus Falls, JoAnn (Myron) Hexum of Rothsay, and Donald Lysne of Fergus Falls; seven grandchildren: Wanda (Allen) Flatin, Rothsay, Kevin (Sheryl) Hexum, Fergus Falls, Julie (Jim) Feske, Fargo, Gayle Burtt, Dayton, OH, Jodi Christianson, Sabin, Kirk (Marci) Hexum, Fergus Falls, and Joel (Rosanne) Lysne, Wahpeton; 16 great-grandchildren: Melissa (Eric) Logan, Fergus Falls, Jennifer Hexum, St. Cloud, Kimberly (Nick) Fosse, Melrose, Matthew Flatin, Fargo, Lisa Flatin, Fargo, Jenna, Andrew, Callie, and Brandon Christianson, all of Sabin, Andrew and Alex Hexum of Fergus Falls, Jacob Sundeen, Fargo, Jamison Feske, Fargo, Bret and Anaka Lysne of Wahpeton, and Ashley Rocholl of Fargo; and seven great-great-grandchildren: Austin and Brooklyn Priebnow of Fergus Falls, Lynnzie Logan, Fergus Falls, Nathan Fosse, Melrose, Elisia and Callia Christianson Tomez of Sabin, and Izaak Bilden, Fergus Falls.  Also surviving are a special niece, Laurize Ruof; a sister-in-law, Lou Lysne; and numerous nieces and nephews.
