Edith “Edie” Bluhm, 90, a resident of Moorhead, and formerly of Carlisle, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 8, 2012, in Moorhead, Minnesota. She was born February 22, 1922, near Erhard, Minnesota the daughter of Edward and Jennie (Hanson) Johnson. On December 4, 1938, she married Wilbur Bluhm on the Bluhm farm. They made their home near Carlisle where they farmed. She was employed as a seamstress at Rosenblatts in Fergus Falls. Wilbur passed away in November of 1968. Edith moved to Fergus Falls to live until the spring of 1969, and then moved back to the farm until the fall. Edith moved into Fergus Falls, living there from 1969 to 1992. Due to health problems she moved to Moorhead to be with family. She lived there up until the time of her death. Edith was a member of the Carlisle Homemakers. She enjoyed playing cards, rummage sales, and doing crossword puzzles. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Wilbur, three brothers, two sisters, and a grandson, Timothy Allen Brown. Edith is survived by her daughter, Juneal (Warren) Brown of Moorhead; grandchildren: Lore (Jeff) Knutson, and Linda (Gary) Nelson, all of Moorhead, and Scott (Tina) Brown of St. Bonifacius, MN; five great-grandchildren: Kristie (Chris) Hondl, Kari Nelson, Amanda Brown, Catherine Brown, and Jeffrey Brown; a sister-in-law, Bernita Rian of Elizabeth; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church.
