Earle Gene Jackman, 85, of Fergus Falls, passed away at PioneerCare Center Saturday, January 4, 2020.
Earle was born November 8, 1934, in Minneapolis, he was the son of Earl and Loretta Jackman.
He entered the Army at age 22 and was stationed in Germany, where he worked as an engineer in the weaponry division. While in the military, he earned his degree in electrical engineering and later computer engineering. After the military he worked as a project engineer for the Honeywell company in Minneapolis for 30 years. After retiring, he moved to Emily, Minnesota to enjoy the peaceful outdoors.
Earle’s hobbies included engineering projects in his home lab, playing the guitar, as well as collecting them, photography, woodworking, and studying scriptures. He was known by his family and friends to be witty, intelligent, and creative.
Earle was proceeded in death by his father, Earl; his mother, Loretta, and two brothers, Robert and Donald.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 66 years, Betty Jackman of Fergus Falls; sons, Gregory (Michelle) Jackman and Steven Jackman; daughter, Sheri (Nathan) Dahlen; six grandchildren, Kyle Jackman, Mitchell Jackman, Grady Jackman, Ruby Dahlen, Greta Dahlen, and Nora Dahlen, and one great granddaughter, Braelyn Jackman.
A memorial service will be held at PioneerCare Celebration Center on Thursday January 9th at 10:30am. A Veteran’s military service at Camp Ripley will be held at a future date.
