Duane Rasmussen

Duane Vern Rasmussen, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, April 30, 2009, at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Fergus Falls. He was “29 years and a few months” old when he passed away. He was born August 5, 1921, in Hector, Minnesota, the son of Diedrick and Birgitte Rasmussen. He was a Veteran of World War II and served in the Coast Guard.  He was preceded in death by his son, Dale, and his daughter, Alice. He is survived by his daughters, Gloria Bugbee of Sacramento, California, Blanche (Ron) Jensen of Roseville, Minnesota, and Carol Ramirez. He is also survived by five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. There will be a graveside service at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.  Olson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
