Douglas Ronald Muchow, 60, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at his residence. He was born November 22, 1951, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the son of Ronald and Luverne (Anderson) Muchow. He grew up and graduated from school in Fergus Falls. Douglas worked for several years with the Rogers Brothers Carnival with the amusement games as a carnival barker (or carny). He was employed in road construction for the last few years, living in Minneapolis, but maintaining his primary residence in Fergus Falls. Three years ago he moved to Fergus Falls permanently. He would spend part of his winters in Puerto Morelos, Mexico. Doug loved cooking and canning – making salsa was his specialty. He enjoyed ice fishing on many area lakes. He was a very friendly and talkative individual, and loved spending time on his computer, visiting with friends, and music. Doug had his opinions on life, and always wanted to have the last word on a subject. But most importantly, he was a very kind and generous soul. Preceding him in death were his parents, and a great niece, Kaitlyn Hasbargen. Survivors include his siblings: Karen Muchow of Fargo, ND, Kathy Hasbargen (Tony Tovar) of Bismarck, ND, Steve Muchow (Deb Skadberg) of Nevis, MN, Mark Muchow of Fergus Falls, and Mary Beth Muchow of Chandler, AZ; as well as many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the funeral home Memorial Service: 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at Olson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls Clergy: Reverend Jennifer Rose Interment: First Lutheran North Cemetery, Fergus Falls, at a later date.
