Dorothy Lorraine Worner, 91, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. She was born November 8, 1919 in Wahpeton, North Dakota, the daughter of Arthur W. and Stella (Wetherbee) Krause. She grew up in Wahpeton, where she attended school, graduating from Wahpeton High School in 1936, and from North Dakota State School of Science in 1938. She worked for the Federal Land Bank in Breckenridge, Minnesota for three years. On March 23, 1941, she married Iram Worner and they moved to Fergus Falls where they raised their family. She was church secretary at The Federated Church for 20 years. Dorothy was a member of The Federated Church, and a charter member of the Fergus Area College Foundation. Preceding her in death were her husband, Iram, in 1980, her parents, a brother, Charles Krause, and a sister-in-law, Lorraine Liedman. Survivors include her sons, James (Arlene) Worner of Fergus Falls, and Gerald (Anne) Worner of Fergus Falls; grandchildren: Steven (Angela) Worner and their children Cassandra, Charles and Christian, Gregory (Tamara) Worner and their children Jonathan, Emily and Catherine, Chad (Rachel) Worner and their children Ethan and Sydney, Beth (Michael) Thorson and their children Oliver, Natalie, Jenna, and Lauren, and Lisa (Colin) Miller. Additional survivors include two sisters-in-law, Ruth Krause of Northridge, CA, and Gwen Roehl of Bloomington, MN, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins, including Ruth Shaw of Collinsville, IL. Memorials may be directed to The Federated Church in Fergus Falls. Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church.
