Dorothy Edith Skramsted, 87, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at the Broen Memorial Home in Fergus Falls. She was born March 25, 1923, in Elbow Lake, Minnesota, the daughter of Harry and Lillie (Johnson) Stavos. She was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Elbow Lake. She moved to Kensington and lived there until 1948. Dorothy married Bert Skramsted in 1948 in Kensington, and they moved to Fergus Falls. She retired from the Fergus Falls Medical Group in 1997. Dorothy was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Bert, in 2001; four sisters, Betty Bengston, Ina Buck, Julia Cooper, and Lila Hutchings; and two brothers, Lester and Harlan Stavos. Survivors include her son, James (Nancy) Skramsted of Billings, Montana; one grandson, Eric (Jacquelyn) Skramsted of Lonsdale; two sisters, Blanche Goodwin of Hoffman, and Helen Mack of Park Rapids; and one brother, Philip Stavos of St. Cloud. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and two great-grandchildren.
