Dorothy Evelyn Lindely, 99, a resident of Fergus Falls, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018, at the Broen Home in Fergus Falls, surrounded by loved ones.
She was born on April 11, 1918, in Bass Brook Township, Itasca County, Grand Rapids, MN, the daughter of Thomas and Agnes (Bertram) Lee. In 1928, the family moved to Buse Township, rural Fergus Falls, where Dorothy attended District #31.
On October 30, 1943, she married Rangvald Lindely in Fergus Falls. To this marriage, three children were born. They farmed near Underwood, before buying a farm near Dalton. Rangvald passed away April 18, 1967. In the fall of 1967, Dorothy moved into Fergus Falls. She did Licensed Day Care for a short time. In 1968, she started working at Lake Region Hospital as a housekeeper later becoming the Supervisor in the Laundry/Linen Department until her retirement at the age of 79, in 1997.
Dorothy enjoyed baking, working in the garden and her flower beds. She loved having her grandchildren and did a lot of babysitting. She taught them so much abut the values of life. She had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, reading the Bible and praying daily. Her faith was very important to her.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Rangvald; her son, Ronald in 2007; brothers, Earl (Evelyn), Clifford (LaVerne), Marvin (Dorothy Mae), Charley (Carol) and Wodrow (Lucille); sisters, Goldie (Arnold Neumann), Hazel (Regnar Jenson), Sylvia (Carl Miller, George McCollough) and an infant sister, Minnie; sister-in-law, Delores Lee; and brothers-in-law, Oscar Hanson, Ronald Ripley and Gordon Graber.
Survivors include her daughters Joyce (Gene) Tostenson, and Connie (Leslie) Fronning all of Fergus Falls; six grandchildren, Mickey (Kristi) Tostenson, Jerry (Jackie) Tostenson, Susie (Dylan) Kucera, Cindy (Ramo) Osmanovic, Kimberly Fronning, and Cheryl (Brock) Hanson; great grandchildren, Sean (Amber) Tostenson, Patrik Tostenson, Brady (Trista) Tostenson, Brett Tostenson, Marissa and Jayden Tostenson; two step-great-grandsons, James and Anthony Hinson, Amanda and Aaron Osmanovic, Andy Kucera and Brooklyn Hanson; two great-great-granddaughters, Alayah and Maya Tostenson; a brother, Floyd Lee of Fergus Falls; sisters, Gladys Hanson and Lynette Ripley of Fergus Falls, Helen Graber of Spokane, WA and Clara (Clarence) Peasley of Erhard along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She will be sadly missed by her family. She was our Sunshine.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the funeral home
Service: 1 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2018, at Calvary Free Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls

Interment: Oak Grove Cemetery, Fergus Falls, MN
