Doris L. Wenino, 93, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Monday, April 9, 2018, at the PioneerCare under the care of LB Hospice.
She was born on May 18, 1924, to Leo and Viola (Bentzin) Dominick, in Wahpeton, ND. Her family moved to Fergus Falls, MN, when her father accepted the position as Superintendent of School District 544. Doris graduated from Washington High School in 1941.
Doris attended Iowa State, and eventually transferred to UND. She left college and moved to Santa Monica, CA, and worked at Douglas Air Craft to help with the war effort.
On June 17, 1944, Doris married Kenneth Walter Wenino in Reno, NV, while Walt was still in the armed services. Doris and Walt resided in Sacramento, CA, Joplin, MO, and returned to Fergus Falls after the war. The couple had been married 52 years at the time of Walt’s death in 1996.
Doris was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority, and she loved being a member of P.E.O. Chapter M., her Bridge Clubs, and women’s groups, including her church circle at Grace United Methodist. Doris was a long-time member of Federated Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Leo and Vi Dominick; husband, K.W. Wenino; sister, Marian Evjen; and son-in-law, Stephen Bielfeldt.
Survivors include her two daughters, Wendy (Terry) Kremeier of Milton, GA, Lisa Bielfeldt of Fergus Falls; grandchildren, Natalie (Cory) Todd of Winnetka, IL, Michael (Jessie) Kremeier of Dublin, OH; and great-grandchildren, Grace, Quinn, Leo, and Clara Todd, Ansley, Evan, and Andrew Kremeier.
Memorials may be directed to the Ottertail County Humane Society.
Service: 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018, at the Olson Funeral Home Chapel in Fergus Falls

Interment: Oak Grove Cemetery, Fergus Falls, MN
