Doris Genevieve Sveresvold, 100, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Friday, January 13, 2017, at the Broen Home.
Doris was born on July 23, 1916, to Ole and Lula (Sneva) Sveresvold in Underwood. She was baptized and confirmed at Tingvold Lutheran Church and attended Barnard country school and graduated from Underwood High School. After high school, Doris went on to attend vocational school in Minneapolis and Franklin Hospital for nurses training.
She moved to Fergus Falls in 1946 and worked at First National Bank for over 30 years.
Her hobbies included reading, crocheting, knitting and Norwegian handiwork.
Doris belonged to Bethlehem Lutheran Church where she served in the women’s circles and with the Luther Leagues. She also taught Sunday School and worked in the church library.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Clarence, and sister-in-law, Gudrun Sveresvold.
Survivors include twin nephew and niece, Ronald Sveresvold and Marilyn Kenney, numerous cousins including Lon and Sonja Moe of Fergus Falls and many friends.
A last request by Doris: “I would like to say thank you and God’s blessing to the many people who have been so kind to me during my life.”
Memorials are preferred to Bethlehem Lutheran Church Foundation Fund and the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Library.
Visitation: One hour before the service at the funeral home
Service: 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls
