Doris Griepentrog Doris Griepentrog, 90, of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, February 14, 2008, at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls. She was born March 10, 1917, in Fergus Falls, the daughter of Emil and Anna (Steinberger) Schleske. She grew up in Friberg Township and attended rural school. As a young woman she worked in Fergus Falls at a local restaurant as well as being a housekeeper/nanny for the Fenwick Fetvedt family. On September 21, 1938, she married Earl Griepentrog at the parsonage of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. Together they made their home near Elizabeth, purchasing a dairy farm in 1941, and operating it until their retirement in 1975. During their retirement years, they enjoyed 14 winters in Arizona and continued to live on the farm the remainder of the year. In 1993, they moved to Fergus Falls and for the last 12 years, Doris had lived in the River Bend Apartments in Fergus Falls. Special to Doris were her family, friends, card games and socializing. Preceding her in death were her husband, Earl, who died on March 10, 1997; her parents; and seven brothers and sisters, Rose, Frances, Otto, Alfred, Emma, Edna and Harold. Survivors include her children, Larry (Sylvia) of Fergus Falls and Margery (Jon) Stephenson of Waubay, SD; ten grandchildren, Lisa (Mike) Fronning, Fargo, ND, Kim (Bryan) Murdoff of Champlin, MN, Don (Alicia) Stephenson of Blakesburg, IA, Deb (Don) Rumpza of Waubay, SD, Michelle (Kevin) Jarandson of Fegus Falls, MN, Lyndon (LeAnn) Field of Dent, MN, Bill (Karen) Field of Erhard, MN, John (Lisa) Field of Dent, MN, Lori (Tom) Olson of Pelican Rapids, MN, and Jenny (John) Opheim of Algona, IA; 24 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
