Donald F. Saurer, 83, a resident of Fergus Falls, died peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, July 26, 2019, at LB Broen Home in Fergus Falls.
He was born April 22, 1936 to Anton and Irene (Kidder) Saurer in Friberg Township. He attended country school in Friberg Township and Fergus Falls Senior High School.
He married Joyce Andvik at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.
Donald served in the United States Marine Corps and was stationed at Camp Pendleton. Throughout his working career, he was employed by Swedberg Tree Service, Wright Tree Service, and he was the Forestry Foreman for the City of Moorhead. He retired in 1998.
He was a member of the Moorhead VFW and the American Legion. He loved gardening, fishing, casino trips, playing cards, and playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jimmy and David; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Alice and Richard Tate; brother-in-law, Allen Andvik; sister-in-law, Joan Moen, and son-in-law, Rob Duenow.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; children, Terri (Wally) Ament, Bruce (Terri Broderick), Bonnie Duenow, and Lisa (Randy) Swanson; grandchildren, Chad (Amy Carpenter) Currier, Candice (Brandon) Belich, Carmen (Eric Fall) Currier, Joshua (Ashlee) Duenow, Mandy (Jeremy) Johnson, Heather Saurer, Klayton Ament, Derek (Tanya Peterson) Ament; great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Currier, Jack Currier, Gavin Belich, Eli Belich, Chloe Currier, London Duenow, Ayreland Duenow, Ava Phillips, Jessika Johnson, Robbie Johnson, Dalton Ament, Briella Ament, Riley Ament; siblings, John Saurer, Tom (Lyla) Saurer; brother-in-law, Ken Moen; sisters-in-law, Jan Andvik and Birdelle Saurer; aunt, Evelyn Kidder, and bonus son Jay (Annette) Kerr and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation: 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 1, 2019 at Olson Funeral Home with public prayer service at 6:30 p.m. and visitation resuming one hour prior to the service at the church.
Service: 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 2, 2019 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Fergus Falls, MN.
Clergy: Father Alan Wielinski and Deacon Chuck Kampa
Military Participation: Fergus Falls V. F.W Post 612 and American Legion Post 30.
Burial: St. Elizabeth Catholic Cemetery in Elizabeth, MN.
