Donald David McGray, age 79, of Fergus Falls, died Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at his home under the care of Lakeland Hospice.
Donald was born May 15, 1937, to Edward James McGray and Anna Mae (Kennedy) Erdman in Fond Du Lac, WI.
He attended Central High School in Sioux City, IA and graduated in June of 1955. He went on to receive his Bachelor of Science degree in May 1977.
On November 2, 1963 Donald was united in marriage to Carole Marian Reese in Hibbing. He served as a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force from 1955 until he retired in 1975. He worked for the IRS as a Tax Auditor/Revenue Agent from June 1977 until his retirement in 1997.
He belonged to Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and was a member of the Friends of the Fergus Falls Library. He enjoyed collecting Civil War and WWII books, reading, movies, long walks and spending time with family.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Anna and Edward, and a brother, William Bohlman.
Survivors include: his wife, Carole; his children, Nancy McGray of Moorhead, Katherine (David) Johnson of Fergus Falls, Mary (Michael) Garner of West Union, IL, John (Sara) McGray of Denver, CO; his grandchildren, Zachary, Megan, and Sara Johnson, and James, Philip and Alyssa Garner; great-grandchildren, Chloe, daughter of James and Elizabeth Garner, and Dwaine, son of Philip and Emilee Garner, and his two sisters, Judith (Wayne) Bahr and Julie Bohlman both of Oshkosh, WI.
Visitation: One hour prior to service at the church
Service: 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church
Clergy: Fathers Alan Wielinski and Bob Kieffer
Interment: St. Otto’s Cemetery
