Donald Harles, 69, of rural Fergus Falls, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 19, 2007, surrounded by his family and under the care of Lakeland Hospice. Donald and his identical twin brother, David, were born on March 15, 1938, to Leo and Mildred Harles on the family farm in Friberg Township. After growing up in the area, Don joined the Air Force. While serving in the military he married Patricia Glazik. He returned to his roots where he grew a landscaping business which he ran "green side up" for over 30 years. Don was a member of the local American Legion and the Eagle's Club. He was a lifetime member of St. Elizabeth Parish. Don enjoyed years of adventures with his family and friends, from boating and hunting to travels and endless nights of card playing. He also gained many friendships through the operation of his rural apartment property and cherished the times he spent with all his favorite tenants. Preceding him in death were his parents, Leo and Mildred, and his brother Gordon. Survivors include his children: Wade (Denise) Harles of West Fargo, Janet Harles of Fargo, Mary (John) Harles-Campbell of Moorhead, Cyndi Harles of Minneapolis, and Dos Harles of St. Cloud; his siblings: Cathy Piper, Leo (Inez) Harles, and his twin David (Joyce) Harles, all of Fergus Falls; grandchildren: Lyndsey (Cayler) Olson, Crystal (Jason) Cossette, Austin Harles and Kaylee Harles; two great-grandchildren; Kira and Madison; and several nieces and nephews. Along with family, Don leaves behind many special friends and will be missed. Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Monday at Brenny Hall in Elizabeth, with parish prayers at 6:30 p.m. and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church.
