Donald “Don” Engen, 60, died Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at the Aneta Parkview Health Center in Aneta, North Dakota, where he was a resident. He was born January 23, 1951, in Price Utah, the son of Melane and Merlene (Reese) Engen. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Bloomington, Minnesota in 1968. Don served in the U.S. Air Force during the Viet Nam War, serving in Thailand where he loaded bombs. After his military service he was employed as a sales representative in the electronic field. Don enjoyed golfing, water skiing, fast boats, and politics. Preceding him in death were his parents and grandparents. Survivors include his sister, Bonnie (Greg) Larson of Erhard; his stepmother, Karen Engen of Battle Lake; a niece, Heather (Randy) Bitzan of Brandon; and a nephew, Sean Greeney of Fairfax, VA. There will be a private family service at a later date. Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls is in charge of arrangements.
