Donald Francis Lehn, 57, a resident of Rothsay, died Saturday, March 1, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family under the loving care of Lakeland Hospice.
Don was born on July 20, 1956 in Minneapolis, the son of Sylvester and Christina (Kucharczyk) Lehn. He grew up in Minneapolis and Sault St. Marie, MI. The family moved to Rothsay and he graduated from Rothsay High School in 1974. After high school he received his associate’s degree from Fergus Falls Community College and his Auto Body Certificate from St. Cloud Tech.
On June 26, 1977 he married Kayla Lemke in Erhard, MN. He was employed with Smith Motors as an Auto Body Technician in Wahpeton until 1985 and then was self- employed in Rothsay.
He enjoyed painting, restoring cars, motorcycles, talking on the phone, drag races and car shows, spending time with his family and friends and sharing stories around his kitchen table. He also loved to travel to Michigan and had a love for all animals.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Evelyn and Leo Lehn and John and Julia Kucharczyk; father, Sylvester Lehn and sister, Julia Lehn.
Survivors include his children; Jennifer Hams of Erhard; Shane Lehn of Rothsay, grandchildren, Austin Lehn and Makinzie Hams of Breckenridge; mother, Christina Lehn of Sault St. Marie, MI; siblings, Bob (Marcy) Lehn of Breckenridge, Dennis Lehn of Rothsay, Mary Lou (Mike) Faulkner of Rothsay, Dwayne Lehn (Sandy Graham) of Sault St. Marie, MI, Larry (Michelle) Lehn of Alexandria, Mark (Lisa) Lehn of Sault St. Marie, MI; brother-in-law, Jamie Lemke (Kristen Butler) of Erhard; his companion, Kelly Mork of Rothsay and her children, Miles Mudderman, Lonny Mork, Jamey Mork; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins along with Uncle Charlie from Canadian Island and countless friends.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorial Service: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Elizabeth, MN.
