Donald Brown

March 17, 1950 — June 4, 2013

Donald Ray Brown, 63, a resident of Erhard, died Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls.

He was born March 17, 1950, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the son of Ira and Esther (Sha) Brown. He graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1968, and then attended school in Minneapolis, where he learned to weld. He worked construction as a union iron worker, and was also employed over the years with Superior Plow Blades, Shoremaster, and most recently White Oak Metals, where he worked until the time of his illness. He enjoyed his job there, and his fellow workers, and was grateful to the management who were so good to him.

Don was a member of the Association of Harley Davidson Riders, a lifelong member of the NRA, where he was ranked as high as seventh in Minnesota in the NRA pistol competition in the sharpshooter division, and also a member of the Fergus Falls Rifle and Pistol Club. He enjoyed hunting in many states, shooting sports, fishing, camping, and motorcycling.

He loved his family, friends, kids and grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors include two children, Joshua Brown of Fergus Falls, and Erika Brown of Maple Grove; two grandchildren, Alyssa and Raelynn Brown; his beloved Janie Boen and her children, Kari and Shelly Boen, and their children Lexi, Kya, Ethan and Isaiah; a sister, Cynthia (Don) Hoover of St. Catherine MO; and niece and nephews Lacey, Robert and John Hoover

There will be a celebration of Don’s life on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at 1 p.m. at his home.

Arrangements are with the Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls.
