Don Berg, 64, a resident of Dalton, died Monday, April 16, 2018, at his home under the care of his three daughters and assistance from LB Hospice.
He was born on October 26, 1953, to James and Bernice (Dahle) Berg, in Fergus Falls, MN. Don attended grade school in Wendell and graduated from Elbow Lake High School in 1971. He then went on to attend college at Moorhead Tech.
On August 5, 1978, Don married Deborah Kay Godel.
Don farmed on the family farm near Elbow Lake, MN, from 1970-1995. During those years Don also performed with several bands, including: Macho, Johnny Holm, and Catillac. Don was a bass player, and also performed backup for Dick Clark, Del Shannon, Tommy Roe, Bobby Vee, The Shirelles, as well as numerous other bands. From 1995-2015, Don was self-employed with his business DJ Construction.
In his free time, Don enjoyed hunting and fishing with his daughters and grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Blanche and Thomas Berg, Carl and Gemelia Dahle; former spouse, Deborah Godel; as well as several aunts and uncles.
Survivors include his children, Jessica (Mike) Jensen of Ashby, MN, Kara Berg (James Keaton) of Fort Collins, CO, and Sarah Davis (Brian Hoffman) of Jupiter, FL; grandchildren, Brett, Taylor, Trevor Peterson (children of Jessica Jensen) of Ashby, MN; parents, Jim and Bernice Berg of Elbow Lake; sister, Sandra (Joe) Geris of Alexandria, MN.
