Dolores Pribbernow

Dolores Edith Pribbernow, 89, a resident of Pioneer Pointe in Fergus Falls, died Thursday, March 26, 2009, at the Pioneer Nursing Home. She was born August 10, 1919, in Buffalo, North Dakota, the daughter of Harry and Ida "Edith" Oline (Jacobsen) Johnson. She grew up in Buffalo,  graduating from high school in 1937. On January 29, 1942, she married Albert C. Pribbernow in Breckenridge, Minnesota. They moved to Fergus Falls in 1952. Dolores was a homemaker, raising her children, and later worked in downtown Fergus Falls at O’Meara’s Department Store and the Children’s Shop. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and its LWML, and served as a Sunday school teacher and on the Board of Education. She was a Cub Scout den mother for many years.  She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary and Eagles Auxiliary. Dolores loved to dance, golf, and play cards, especially pinochle.  For 28 years she spent her winters in Mesa, Arizona. Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, Albert C. on November 13, 1987. Survivors include two sons, Richard “Dick” (Carol Joye) Pribbernow, and Jerome “Jerry” (Shirley) Pribbernow, all of Fergus Falls; five grandchildren and their families: Traci (Tony) Fichter, Alyssa and Carl John “C.J.” of Roseau, Jason (Stephanie) Pribbernow, Seth and Sophia of Fergus Falls, Melinda Pribbernow of Wichita, KS, Stephanie (David) Bertek, Tiffany and Brandon of Carlos, and Jeremy Pribbernow of Crystal, MN; a brother, Howard (Ione) Johnson of Buffalo, ND; and many nieces and nephews.
