Dolores Broschat

Dolores Harriet Broschat, 87, of Fergus Falls, died Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls. She was born November 17, 1924, in Alexandria, Minnesota, the daughter of Fred and Anna (Fiebranz) Wachter. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Alexandria, and attended Zion Lutheran School from 1930 to 1938. She graduated from Alexandria High School in 1942. Dolores worked as a legal secretary for a law firm in Alexandria from 1942 to 1946, and then worked for O’Day Equipment Company in Fargo from 1946 to 1948. She and Myron Broschat were married in 1948 in Alexandria. They moved to Pittsfield, Massachusetts where her husband worked for the General Electric Company. They were later transferred to Lynn, Massachusetts and Erie, Pennsylvania. In 1950 they moved to Wadena, Minnesota where her husband worked for the Todd-Wadena Electric Cooperative. In 1952 they moved to Fergus Falls where he was employed by Otter Tail Power Company. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and served as a substitute Sunday School teacher for several years. She enjoyed dancing, playing bridge, and collecting dolls. Preceding her in death were her parents, two sisters, and one brother. Survivors include her husband, Myron, of Fergus Falls; two sons: Baron (Peggy) Broschat of Bloomington, MN, and Robin (Tammy) Broschat of Omaha, NE; and a grandson, Brandon of Omaha, NE. Memorials are preferred to the Trinity Lutheran Church Building Fund in Fergus Falls. Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church Service: 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2012, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls Clergy: Reverend Curtis Deterding Interment: Trinity-Faith Cemetery in Fergus Falls Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls is in charge of the arrangements.
