Dennis Stock

Dennis Alan Stock “Denny”, age 85, of Ottertail, formerly of Western Township, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 5th, 2024, at his residence, under the care of Knute Nelson Hospice, surrounded by his family. 

Denny was born on April 22, 1939, to Arnold and Florence (Schreiber) Stock in Fergus Falls. He was baptized and confirmed at Western Presbyterian Church of Fergus Falls. He attended District 49 of Western Township K-8 grade prior to further education at WCSA, Morris, MN 1954-1957. 

Denny married the love of his life Renee Larson on May 6, 1961. Together they raised their four girls on the farm west of Fergus Falls.

Denny was born a farmer, learning at an early age how to drive a truck or tractor before his feet could reach the pedal and spent summers custom combining with his father in Kansas and Oklahoma. Denny farmed with his father Arnold and brother Bob until retiring in 1989. Denny and Renee moved to Ten Mile Lake thereafter where he went to work crop adjusting and selling insurance at Farmer’s Agency of Elbow Lake. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, growing tomatoes and wintering in Arizona where he could be found working on his tan and discussing his favorite political party : ) 

Denny was a faithful member of Western Presbyterian Church, Wendel Lions and Fergus Falls Elks. His military status included 6 years in the military guard. 

Preceded in death by his wife, Renee; daughter, Michele (Tony) Baumler; parents, Arnold and Florence and brother, Robert Stock. 

He is survived by his children, Christine Heron, Karen (Jeff) Lees and Melissa (Brian) Graff; grandchildren, Jessica Heron, Brandon Baumler, Melissa (John) Moore, Hunter Pond and Cody Gorentz; great-grandchildren, Camryn Luna and Levi Baumler; sisters, Judy Held and Deb (Lester) Carlson and brother-in-law, Ronald (Kay) Larson. 

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to St Jude Children’s Hospital and the Salvation Army. 

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 1, 2024, at Olson Funeral and Cremation in Fergus Falls with visitation one-hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Clergy: Reverend John Lindholm

Interment: Western Presbyterian Cemetery
