Dennis Jorgenson

Dennis Alan Jorgenson passed away at his home in Rothsay, Minnesota on May 28, 2013, under the care of Lakeland Hospice at the age of 60 years.

He was born October 8, 1952 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the son of Harley and Gwen (Olson) Jorgenson. He was baptized and confirmed at Hamar Lutheran Church in Rothsay. Dennis grew up and attended school in Rothsay, where he played basketball, football and baseball, graduating from high school in 1970. He attended Technical College in Thief River Falls where he received a degree in Audio Communications.

Dennis worked at several radio stations, including Mayville, Marshall, Thief River Falls, Fergus Falls, Princeton, Fosston and Bagley. He also worked for Beacon Engineering in Rothsay and Palliser Furniture in Fargo. He was attending Detroit Lakes Technical College when he suffered a stroke in 1996, leaving him paralyzed on his right side. He moved to an apartment in Rothsay in 1999 where he lived until his death.

Preceding him in death were his father, Harley; two brothers, Michael and Scott; a sister, Wendy; and his grandparents, Erick and Clara Jorgenson, and Emil and Annie Olson.

Survivors include his mother, Gwen Jorgenson, of Rothsay; a sister, Bonnie Arnold of New Hope; a brother, Craig (Kathy) Jorgenson of Pelican Rapids; a niece, Amanda (Shawn) Walsh and children Taylor Clarke and Kaitlin Walsh; nephews: Michael (Ashley) Arnold and Chase, Shawn (Stacy) Zimney and children Heather, Dylon, Chase, Addison, and Jace and granddaughter Maddy, Ben (Sarah) Biloff and children Leumn and Quinn, and Jesse (Lorissa) Biloff and Austin; and many uncles, aunts and cousins.

Visitation: 2-4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home
Prayer Service: 4 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013 at the Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls

Interment: Hamar Cemetery, Rothsay, Minnesota
