Denise Mila Kenyon, 54, a resident of Underwood, died Thursday, March 19, 2015, at the Lake Region Hospital, Fergus Falls, as a result of a car accident the evening before.
She was born on July 13, 1960, in Watsonville, CA, the daughter of Milo Vernon and Darnella Jane (Grimstad) Severson.
On August 6, 2005, she married Steve Maurice Kenyon, at the Phelps Mill Park, rural Underwood.
She began a lifelong career in the restaurant business, starting in Fergus Falls at Charlie’s Pizza.
Denise held a variety of positions throughout her years in the restaurant industry, from waitressing to management. Most recently she was employed at the Shoreline café in Battle Lake. She also worked as a fur processor and a butcher and was believed to be the world’s fastest meat wrapper and beaver tacker.
Her hobbies included reading, cooking feasts for family and friends, enjoyed gardening, especially vegetables, herbs and flowers, horticulture, socializing and visiting, camping, hiking playing games, being competitive and especially enjoyed listening to her husband play his music
Preceding her in death were her parents; her brother Donny Severson; a sister Dawn; her grandparents; Selvin and Mabel Grimstad, and John and Minnie Severson.
Survivors include her husband, Steve; three children, Jon Sheldon of Dalton, Dylan Sheldon, of Fergus Falls and Mila (fiancé Christopher Doty) Sheldon, of Duluth; four grandchildren, Takaira, Keanah, Quinn and Eliza; two sisters, Annette Severson of St. Paul, and Darla (Jon) Dillon of Olivia MN; two brothers, Danny (Janine) Severson of Columbia Heights, Darren Severson of Fergus Falls, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: One hour prior to service at the Church
Service: 10:00 a.m. Saturday March 28, 2015 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls
