Delores Arlene Lee, 88, of rural Fergus Falls, died Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at her home.
She was born January 26, 1928, in Fergus Falls, the daughter of Martin and Clara (Nordlee) Staff. On March 18, 1928, she was baptized by Rev. Quello, and she was confirmed in 1942, at Trinity Lutheran Church, by Walter Friedriech.
Delores attended Washington High School in Fergus Falls, graduating in 1946. After graduation, she took one year of Teachers training at Lincoln School, then taught in rural Fergus Falls for one year and later was employed at Woolworths Department Store in Fergus Falls.
On September 21, 1949, she married Floyd Lee at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls with Rev. William Krueger officiating. In 1953, they moved to Tacoma, WA where Floyd was stationed at Fort Lewis. In 1955 they came back to Fergus Falls where they purchased a farm south of town and raised registered Holstein cattle and grain farmed.
She was a member of Peace United Methodist Church for many years and was the librarian, communion steward, and worked on several committees. She also volunteered for Meals by Wheels and the Food Shelf and enjoyed gardening, canning, raising flowers, cooking, baking and taking meals out to the field during harvests.
Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, William, Stanley, and an infant brother, Russell; and sisters, Margaret Sund and Dorothy Mae Lee.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Floyd of Fergus Falls; three children, Dan (Becky) of Fergus Falls, Mary (Mark) Wilke of West Fargo, and Jeff of Breckenridge, Mary Lee; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and special friend, Delphinia “Myra” Molter of Fergus Falls.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2016, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial Service: 1 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Church of Peace United Methodist, Fergus Falls
