DeLores Mary (Pillen) Eul, 87, of Chokio, MN, died Friday, September 25, 2020, at Pioneer Cottages under the care of LB Hospice.
DeLores was born February 8, 1933, to Daniel and Dorothy (Bonner) Pillen in Stevens County, MN. She grew up on the family farm south of Alberta, MN and graduated from Alberta High School in 1951. DeLores married Theodore “Ted” Eul at Assumption Catholic Church in Morris in June of 1951. The couple resided in Morris, MN, and relocated to Hancock and Alberta, then were long-time residents of rural Chokio. DeLores most recently became a resident at the Pioneer Heartland Cottage in 2019.
Right out of high school, DeLores worked as a teller at Morris State Bank and while in Chokio, she was a homemaker and helped her husband on the farm and raised five children. She later worked at Willie’s Red Owl in Morris and Federated Telephone in Chokio.
DeLores was a member of St. Mary’s Guild and the VFW Auxiliary Post 5039 in Morris.
Preceding her in death was her son, Alan; grandson, Matthew; granddaughter, Kayla; parents, Daniel and Dorothy Pillen, and brothers, Darrell and Dennis Pillen.
DeLores is survived by her husband, Ted of Chokio; children, Diane (DeWayne) Greiner, Susan Smith, Scott (Donna) Eul, and Ann (Michael) Boutwell; grandchildren, Stacey (Tom) Paulbeck, Anna (Mark) Oldham, Eric Greiner, Sara (Ray) Gentry, Katie Eul, Leigha Boutwell, and Brandon Boutwell; great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Joe, and Brockton; sister-in-law, Sharon Pillen; brother, Dallas (Carolin) Pillen, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials are preferred to Chokio First Responders, PO Box 44 Chokio, MN 56221.
A private service will be held in Chokio, MN
