Delilah Adeline Schmidt, 90, a resident of Fergus Falls, was called by the Lord to her eternal home on Monday, August 2, 2010 at the Pioneer Care Center in Fergus Falls. She was born August 16, 1919, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the daughter of Paul and Anna (Wegener) Koppe. She grew up in Fergus Falls, attending Adams Elementary School and Fergus Falls High School where she was an honor student. On March 8, 1946, she married Arthur F. Schmidt at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. Delilah was employed over the years as a secretary at W.D. Bruce Insurance Agency, Dell and Rosengren Law Office, Allison Insurance Agency, Red River Milling Company, and General Electric Company, working for a total of 47 years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school, served on various committees, and participated in LWML and Bible Study. She also did a lot of volunteer work with many local organizations including A Center for the Arts, the Lake Region Hospital Auxiliary, and the Pioneer Auxiliary. Delilah and Art were faithful attendees and contributors at Trinity Lutheran Church. Delilah enjoyed making enclosure cards, playing bridge, reading and crafts, and going on bus tours. Preceding her in death were her parents, Paul and Anna Koppe, a brother, Paul Koppe Jr., three sisters, Esther V. Koppe, Verna Lundquist, and Adeline Wegner, two brothers-in-law, Arnold Wegner and Gust Lundquist, and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Koppe Dilly. She is survived by her husband, Arthur Schmidt, of Fergus Falls, and numerous nieces and nephews.
