Deborah “Debbie” Rose, 48, of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, August 20, 2015, at Evansville Care Center in Evansville, under the care of Lakeland Hospice.

Deborah Lynn Rose was born on April 11, 1967, to Walter and Carol (Grandlund) Rose, in Fergus Falls. Debbie was baptized and confirmed at Federated Church. She attended grade school at Adam’s Elementary School and graduated from Fergus Falls Senior High School in 1986. After graduation, she attended Hutchinson Vocational Technical College where she earned her Certified Nursing Assistant and Early Childhood certificates.

Over the years, she worked as a home health care aide with North Star Nursing Service, Lake Region Healthcare Home and Health and St. Francis Nursing Home in Breckenridge. She was also an overnight CNA at a group home and worked at Hardee’s Restaurant, both in Wahpeton.

As a child, Debbie was a member of the Barnhard 4H Club of West Ottertail County and Campfire Girls of Adam’s School. In her adult years, she was a mentor for Kinship, a member of the Underwood Lioness’, the Elizabeth Lions Club, the Aurdal Homemakers and Federated Church, where she participated in quilting, bake sales and was on many committees.

She enjoyed volunteering for Hospice where she played bingo, painted nails and spent many hours visiting with patients. She also participated in Quilts of Valor and Packages for Troops. She was delighted to help her niece and nephew show pigs for 4H. Her many hobbies included card making, cross stich, assisting friends with projects, Zumba and Curves, baking bread, trying new recipes, fishing, snowmobiling, camping, travelling and supporting her nieces and nephew in all of their activities.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Roy and Lillian Grandlund; paternal grandparents, Walter and Esther Rose; an aunt, Valjeanne Johansen; an uncle, Merle Johansen; and two cousins, Brenda Johansen and David Johnson.

Deborah is survived by her parents, W. Duane and Carol Rose of Fergus Falls; her sister, Pam (John) Schauff of Carlos; a niece, Kylie (Bryon Johnson) Schauff of Alexandria; a nephew, Dillon Schauff of New Prague; and two great-nieces, Skylar and Lillyana Johnson of Alexandria; aunts and uncles, LaVonne and Ellard Johnson of Underwood and Rosalie and Lyle Rose of East Grand Forks; numerous cousins and special friends; and her loyal dog, Ginger.

Memorials preferred to Federated Church, Lakeland Hospice, Lake Region Healthcare Cancer Care & Research Center and Lions Eye Institute in lieu of flowers.

Visitation: 5:00-7:30 PM on Monday, August 24, 2015, at the Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls and 1 hour prior to the service at Federated Church in Fergus Falls
Service: 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at Federated Church in Fergus Falls
Clergy: Reverends Doug Dent and C. Edward Morgan
Interment: Oak Grove Cemetery in Fergus Falls
