Dean Anderson

Dean Glenn Anderson, 71, St. Bonifacius, formerly of Fergus Falls, passed away Friday, September 13, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Center, Waconia, MN.

Dean was born July 18, 1942 in Benson, MN to Chester Palmer and Olga Josephine (Thompson) Anderson. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Pauli Lutheran Church, rural Swift Falls, MN.

He grew up as a farm boy, attended District 14 and graduated from Benson High School in 1960. He attended the University of Minnesota, Morris for two years and graduated from the University of Minnesota, St. Paul in 1964 with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration.

He served in Wisconsin and Minnesota National Guard Units.

He married Jean Marie Dokken on June 20, 1964 at East Zion Lutheran Church, rural Starbuck, MN. They were blessed with three adopted children and raised a granddaughter.

He began work with Midland Cooperatives in 1964 serving as general manager of cooperatives in Clinton, Fergus Falls and Alexandria, MN for 36 years. He worked for Wal-Mart, Fergus Falls, MN for 11 years retiring in April, 2011 due to failing health.

Dean will be lovingly remembered by wife, Jean, children and grandchildren : Jeffrey Dean (Erin) Anderson, Noah and Riley of Tonka Bay, MN, Danelle Jean (Mike Loomer) Anderson, Ashley and Katelynn, of Erhard, MN, Jason Dean (Rohini) Anderson, Nathan, Emmett and Wyatt, of Minnetonka, MN; sister, Eileen (Dave) Helmstetter of New London, MN and brother, Gene (Lynette) Anderson of Indianola, IA plus several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by parents, Chester and Olga Anderson, grandparents, many aunts, uncles and cousins.


Visitation: 5-7 pm Tuesday, with a prayer service at 6:30 at the funeral home and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church
Service: 10:30 am Wednesday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls
