David Thompson, 66, formerly of Underwood, died Monday, May 05, 2014, at his home in Moorhead.
He was born January 6, 1948, in Fergus Falls, the son of John and Mabel (Danielson) Thompson. He grew up in Underwood and graduated from Underwood High School in 1966. Following high school he attended Fergus Falls Community College.
After college, he worked for Dahl Music in Fergus Falls for a short time. He was later employed with Lake Region Electric in Pelican Rapids as a computer operator in customer service for 42 years. He married Marian Harthun on January 21, 1977, in Battle Lake.
David was a member of the Pelican Rapids Jaycees and the Fish Lake Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed fishing, the outdoors and riding on his John Deere tractor.
Preceding him in death were his father, John who died in 1970; his mother, Mabel, who died in 1996, and a brother, Marlin Dale.
Survivors include his wife, Marian of Moorhead; children, Sheila (Mike) Odland of Fergus Falls, Terry (Tracy) Kerlin of Leesville, LA, Stacy Kerlin of Fergus Falls, Tim (Holly) Thompson of Ashby and Stephanie (Ryan) Krause of Dilworth; grandchildren, Katrina (Travis) Johnson of Fergus Falls, Cody Odland of Tunkhannock, PA, Megan Odland of Fergus Falls, Jacob Kerlin of Fort Bragg, NC, Clayton Kerlin of Leesville, LA, Maddy, Mia, Finn and Lola Thompson of Ashby, Tayler Thompson of Fergus Falls, Anna Mayers of Fergus Falls, Emma Devorak of Fergus Falls, Hunter Harman of Dilworth, Henry and Holden Krause of Dilworth, Ashlyn, Shelby and Easton Eckhoff of Fergus Falls; great-grandchildren, Zachary and Griffin Johnson of Fergus Falls and a brother, Jerry (Barb) Thompson of Erhard.
Visitation: one hour prior to the service at the funeral home
Memorial service: 2 pm Friday, May 9, 2014, at the Olson Funeral Home Chapel, Fergus Falls
