David Thompson

David Arlen Thompson, 86, of Fergus Falls, died July 27, 2024, at the Good Samaritan Society of Battle Lake, MN.

David was born July 15, 1938, to Maurice and Esther (Sundlie) Thompson in Fergus Falls, MN. He attended school in Fergus Falls.

On August 20, 1971, David was married to Carole (Lehman) Halvorson.

David worked with his dad at the Fergus Falls De Soto Creamery and Produce Co. He was employed as a truck driver and also as a chauffeur. David served in the United States Army.

He enjoyed fishing, bird watching, camping, golfing, painting, drawing, coloring, flying and watching planes and sightseeing.

David was a member of the Uninviteds Car Club of Fergus Falls.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Maurice and Esther Thompson; wife, Carole; grandparents; sister and brother-in-law, Charmayne and Jim Schmidt and son, Joe.

David is survived by his son, David (Tanya) of Fergus Falls; grandchildren; Kimberly and Beth; sisters-in-law along with many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to donor's choice.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 9, 2024, at Olson Funeral and Cremation Chapel in Fergus Falls.

Clergy: Reverend David Strom

Interment: A private family burial will be held at Knollwood Memorial Gardens in Fergus Falls at a later date.
