David Edward Lindberg, 66, a resident of Fergus Falls, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 18, 2009, at his home. He was born March 16, 1943, in Leonard, Minnesota, the son of Edward and Elenora (Matson) Lindberg. He graduated from Clearbrook High School in 1961. On September 15, 1962, he married Jean F. Petersen in Monticello, Minnesota. He was co-owner and salesman of Greenway Implement in Princeton, Minnesota, retiring in 2005. David was a member of Moose Lodge in Princeton, where he served as President, and was also a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Princeton. He enjoyed golfing, deer hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, remodeling homes, and bowling. He bowled a 299! Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Willys D. Lindberg. Survivors include his former wife of 42 ½ years, Jean Lindberg of Fergus Falls; his children, Susan (James) Stodola of Fergus Falls, Lynn Butenhoff of Minneapolis, and Kathy (Leslie) Evavold of Battle Lake; four grandchildren: Joseph (Samantha) Stodola and Nichole Stodola all of Becker, MN, and Alyssa Evavold and Annah Evavold, both of Battle Lake; and his brother, Marvin (Ardella) Lindberg, of Leonard, MN. There will be a time to visit with family and friends from 3-5 p.m. Friday, August 21, 2009, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mamre Cemetery, rural Fosston, Minnesota at a later date.
