David Arlen Lehn, 68, a resident of Erhard, Minnesota, died Thursday, March 27, 2014 at his home under the care of Lakeland Hospice in Fergus Falls.
He was born July 3, 1945 in Pelican Rapids, the son, of Peter and Gladys (Melkert) Lehn. He grew up in Erhard and attended school in Pelican Rapids.
David worked all his life in the Construction Industry. He was a construction superintendent on many of the areas buildings and homes.
He loved to hunt and fish and was a past member of Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited and Minnesota Deer Hunters Association. During his short retirement he also became a part-time Gold Miner. Including trips to Montana, South Dakota and Arizona, in search of gold and solitude. When he was home he could be found in his workshop building miscellaneous furniture and other wood working projects. He donated several pieces of his work to the American Cancer Society as well as to the Catholic Church.
Proceeding him in death were his parents; infant sister, Margaret “Peggy”; sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Craig; brother Charles Lehn; brother-in-law, Lester Ouren; nephew, Tim Lehn.
Survivors include his partner in life for the past 22 years, Lynnette Hovland of Erhard; his children, David (Jody) Lehn of Fergus Falls, Laurie (Bruce) Kowalski of Elizabeth, James (Kathy) Lehn of Fergus Falls; grandchildren, Christopher (Rachel) Kowalski, Casey (Cassandra) Kowalski, Molly (Bryant) Kowalski, Mariah Kowalski, Joshua Lehn, Justin Lehn, Andrew Lehn, Karlee Lehn; three great grandchildren, Savannah and Logan Kowalski, Hana Lehn; two brothers, Roger (Janice) Lehn, Ronald (Marlys) Lehn; two sisters, Patricia Ouren and Carol (Melvin) Hodnefield; brother-in-law, Norman Craig; sister-in-law, Jean Lehn. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to Lakeland Hospice of Fergus Falls as well as LRH Cancer Center of Fergus Falls.
Visitation: 3-5 p.m. Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Brenny Hall in Elizabeth, MN with a 4:45 p.m. prayer service.
Memorial Service: 11 a.m. Monday, March 31, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Elizabeth, MN.
