David Howard Jacobson, 64, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Friday, January 13, 2012, at his home, under the care of Lakeland Hospice. He was born March 26, 1947, in Anoka, Minnesota, the son of Simon and Betsy (Williams) Jacobson. He grew up and attended school in Elk River, Minnesota, graduating from Elk River High School in 1965. He attended college at Mankato State University. He began his work in sales with Midwest Marketing, working there until 1985, when he started his own company, Forty-Four Inc. Dave was a member of the American Legion, Eagles, and Moccasin Valley Camp Board. He had a passion for hockey, hunting, fishing, and friends. Survivors include his wife, Gayle of Fergus Falls; his son, Greg and Cubbie Jacobson of Ramsey MN and their daughters Samantha and Skyler; his daughter, Kristin and Steve Girard of Brunswick, OH, and their sons JD, Renn, Samuel, Gus, and Luke; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Sundberg of Brainerd MN; and many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and close friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, Sam and Betsy Jacobson; his sisters, Linda Johnson and Ruth Bistodeau; brother-in-law, Richard Bistodeau; and his father-in-law, Harry Sundberg. Dave was a story and joke teller extraordinaire. He will keep them laughing in heaven. Memorials are preferred to the Lake Region Healthcare Cancer Care and Research Center.
