Darren Duenow

Darren Duenow, 56, of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, March 21, 2024 at his residence from natural causes.

Darren was born May 22, 1967 in Fergus Falls to Lester and Arlene (Ouren) Duenow. He graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1985 and attended Staples Technical Institute graduating in 1987 with a degree in Graphic Arts.

Darren married Amy Gamber on August 31, 1996, at Sverdrup Lutheran Church in Underwood, MN.

After graduating, Darren briefly moved to Sleepy Eye, MN to work as a Graphic Artist he then returned to Fergus Falls to be closer to family. He found employment with Rick and Reid Olson as a Mason where he remained for 27 years. He was very proud of his work and often pointed out homes he had a part in building.

Darren was involved with the Minnesota Darkhouse and Angling Association. He loved gardening and taking care of his yard. Darren enjoyed hunting, fishing, especially Muskie fishing, and playing softball where he made many life-long friends. He spent endless hours cheering his son on in sports and became a second father to many of Dustin's teammates.

Preceding him in death were his paternal grandparents, Walter and Elsie Duenow; maternal grandparents, Alfred and Clara Ouren; father-in-law, Bernie Gamber; uncle, Richard Ouren; aunt, Marcella Kowalski, and beloved great-aunt, Anna Tinglestad.

Darren is survived by his wife, Amy Duenow; son, Dustin Duenow; daughter, Nikki Duenow; brother, Brett (Wendy) Duenow; his parents, Lester and Arlene Duenow; sisters-in-law, Lissa (Kevin) Johanson and Kris Torgusson; mother-in-law, Sandy Gamber; nephews and nieces, Matt (Rachel) Duenow, Josh Duenow, Amanda Duenow, Liz (Travis) Johanson, Ashley (Mario) Garay, Mitch Johanson, Matt (Maggie) Torgusson, Ben (Sam) Torgusson, Sami (Seth) Johanson, and Noah Torgusson, and many great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

Service: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Olson Funeral and Cremation Chapel in Fergus Falls, visitation one-hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment: Bagstevold Cemetery, Erhard, MN
