Darlene Westerhaug

Darlene Westerhaug, 81, of Fergus Falls, died Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at LB Broen Home in Fergus Falls.

Darlene Eleanor Quam was born July 28, 1943 to Selmer Quam and Marian (Zarn) Bullock in Leadville, CO. She attended school in Vining, MN, Kindred, ND, and Fergus Falls, MN. Darlene graduated from Roosevelt High School in Fergus Falls in 1961.

In September 1962 Darlene married Gary Westerhaug in Fergus Falls. She worked for a short time at Skogmo Café in Fergus Falls as a cook's helper, then the couple moved to St. Paul where she worked at Brown and Bigelow. Later she worked for H.M. Smyth Printing Co as a bindery inspector until she retired.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in St. Paul, MN. Darlene loved having flowers around the yard and deck during the summer months. She enjoyed antiquing while going on overnight trips. She also loved getting family visitors.

Preceding her in death were her father, Selmer Quam; her mother, Marian Bullock; sister, Laurie (Fred) Petersen; sisters-in-law, Donna Kimball and Shirley Soria; brother-in-law, Joe Loduca; stepfather, Leonard Bullock; stepsister, Nola Halverson; father and mother-in-law, Howard and Ruby Westerhaug.

Darlene is survived by her husband, Gary Westerhaug; her children, Terry (Teresa) Westerhaug and Lisa (Douglas) Anderson; siblings, Jerald (Phyllis) Quam, Donald (Arlene) Quam, Carol (Ronald) Ehlers, and Roger (Barbara) Quam; granddaughter, Annaleah Rose Westerhaug; brothers and sisters-in-law, Sharon Loduca, Rebecca (Roger) Engelson, Benny Kimball, Linda (David) Gaarsland, Bruce (Joyce) Hanstad, Mary Jo Kugler, Scott Hanstad, and Randy (Cheryl) Hanstad, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A gathering for friends and family is being planned for a later date.
